Overview
Croscarmellose Sodium is a high‑purity, cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose polymer used as a “super disintegrant” in tablets, capsules and granules. On contact with moisture it rapidly absorbs water and swells, causing the dosage form to disintegrate quickly — ensuring rapid drug release and good bioavailability. It works well in both wet‑granulation and direct‑compression formulations and remains effective even in tablets with high hardness or dense binders.
